The Classroom Under the Tree
Designing a school is designing dynamically interrelated exterior and interior spaces that become the child’s own inner world, a shelter for his or her imagination and reality.
Everyone remembers their first teacher, their first school, their first school yard and all of the pleasant and unpleasant adventures associated with them. The responsibility of the designers of school architecture for the child’s perception of space and community is therefore well known, and the significance of this architecture has been the subject of many reflections and discussions.
