Architectural Innovativeness from South Tyrol

The architectural office MoDus Architects from Bressanone (in German: Brixen) was the winner of last year’s Piranesi Award for the design of the externally visible infrastructure of the Bressanone ring road running parallel to the highway. The office leaders are Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol, architects whose creative work is focused predominantly on the area of South Tyrol in Italy. This work is, of course, more than successful.

We talked to them in their office in Bressanone on 3 September 2014.

What has occurred, though, is a greater awareness of bringing design into infrastructural projects, projects that, from an investment standpoint, are exponentially more substantial than your average building.
